On Monday 10th November 2025 Berkshire Healthcare NHS hosted the annual forum.
The forum showcased the many projects that are addressing health inequalities in Berkshire.
Hari Sewell delivered an enlightening and interactive keynote speech on race based and intergenerational trauma with ways to heal.
We were joined by the Mayor of Reading Dr Alice Mpofu Coles and Alex Gild, Deputy Chief Executive Berkshire Healthcare to celebrate Windrush healthcare pioneers. An oral history and art project funded by Berkshire Healthcare Charity to highlight the contribution of Caribbean and South East Asian nurses to the NHS in partnership with ACRE Reading and Joseph Silvanos Wafula.
There were updates on advanced choices in mental health support, faith project, skin tone bias assessment tool and self advocacy, cultural competence and allyship guides from Berkshire Healthcare.
Professor Adetoro Adegoke from Buckinghamshire New University provided an update on the Gypsy, Traveller, Roma, Showmen and Boater Pledge.
Tomson Chauke from World Grove CIC delivered an uplifting Drumming Workshop.
A Hair workshop delivered by Triybe which included an update on their community led research on black heritage hair and future projects.
