
Victor Koroma received an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Law at the Great Hall, University of Reading on the 29th July 2025.
The Honorary degree was awarded to Victor as recognition of advocating for diverse communities in Reading for over 25 years, from 2012 until December 2024 Victor was CEO of ACRE.
In 2015 Victor organised the first major conference on culturally based violence against women and girls that concentrated on Female Genital Mutilation (FGM).
He also formed the Pan Equalities Alliance in 2014, that records hate crime and community safety. the Communities Matters initiative with Thames Valley Police was also founded by Victor with meetings attended by over 300 community representatives.
In 2017 ACRE founded the Rose Centre, that created a safe space for survivors of cultural domestic violence, forced marriage and FGM. In 2022 Victor supported the creation of a Community Wellbeing Hub, that supports the health and wellbeing of the community.
